Wrting Press Release – Beginner’s Guide

If you are starting a new business and you want to get known to the world wide web, a press release can be helpful. It will give a good publicity and visibility to your website. Many press release websites are affiliated with online news, web directories, and article directories. Once your press release has been approved and released, you will be visible in all of the affiliates of the press release company. A press release is an amazing way to publicize your website.  But how should you create your press release? I will help you out by giving you the best tips possible.

Interesting Topic

What is my topic?
Before even starting to write your press release, you should think about your story’s subject. An event, new product, improve services etc… are all good subjects. It will let all your clients know of the changes that will be brought to your website or bring in new potential customers. Once you found your company’s topic, stay on subject the most possible. Something that I would recommend doing is a keyword research so you are sure to optimize keywords that are efficient for your press release.

What is the news in my topic
You have to keep in mind that a press release is to inform people of something new that will happen or has happened. It is an advertisement for your website but you shouldn’t count only on this to advertise your website. Press releases are a very good way to attract traffic to your website but they should be used to deliver news about website. That should be your main concern when you create a press release. So the news in your topic should be about things you will be offering your customers, changes that will be brought to your company, and so on.

Writing The Content

Start your press release with a good heading that will get your reader’s attention. Try keeping it short and precise while including keywords or key phrases in it as well. Most readers won’t click on you if your title isn’t attractive. It should give a short and good description of what your press release is containing. Your summary should be between 2 – 3 sentences. If you wish to get viewed by a lot of people it is important to stay short and sweet because people don’t like to read long summaries, they need raw and precise information. As for the content, it should stay between 300 – 500 words. Even here, having a content that is too long is no good because readers will get bored. Be careful not to make it too short as well. Include your contact information such as address, phone number, city, website and so on. For your links, add a anchor text containing the keywords or key phrases for which you wish to get ranked high.

Submitting Your Press Release

Once you have completed all of the steps above it is time to finally submit your press release. Here are some good and free press release websites, so make sure to use them. If you have a budget for press release, I recommend going with a paid submission of your press release as it goes to major search engines, the press company affiliates, journalists and more. It also provides you with great analytics for your press release. PrWeb does a good job for paid press release submission.
