In the <body> tag you have to watch out for keyword spamming and keyword density. Also in the <body> tag, there are specific ways of what to write in your <h1>, <h2>, <h3> tags, links and URLs.
<Body> Tag:
This is where your computer typing skills will come in handy. Content is very important for search engine optimization because a web page that contains 5 paragraphs obviously has more content than a webpage that has 2 paragraphs. Now don’t get the illusion that longer is better. Quality content plays a big role. Always try to have 4 to 5 paragraphs of quality content.
Insert keyword phrases through out the body text. Repeat them a few times. Search engines reward repetition. I repeat they reward repetition, not spamming. Look as natural as possible because too many repetitions will get you penalized. Use a variation of keyword phrases, repetition of the same keyword phrase through the whole page is seen as spamming by some search engines.
Make sure to include your main keyword phrases in the first paragraph. Like everywhere else, order has weight. A keyword phrase in the first paragraph has more weight than one in the second and third and so on. Something that helps also is to put in bold or large size font some keyword phrases. Once again, don’t over do it.
Keyword Spam:
Don’t try spamming your keywords in your text because search engines will realize it. They’re able to make the difference between quality repetition keywords and just plain out spamming. Now you could even try to spam a comment tag in your html coding. This no longer works and is considered as spamming. This could get you in the banned list of search engines. Now you don’t want to end up there do you? So please avoid spamming at all costs. Your best shot is to be as natural as possible.
People even try cloaking some text. For those who aren’t familiar with “cloaking”, it’s the writing of keywords that are the same color as the background which makes them invisible to the human eye but very visible to search engines. This is the worst thing to do. Excessive repetition of the same keyword will without a doubt get you banned from search engines results lists.
Keyword Density:
The keyword density is mainly a calculation by search engines which calculates how many words you have and how many times you repeat your keywords in it. It is easily calculable. Copy and paste your text in any word document, take the number of words and count how many times you repeated your keywords. Divide your keyword number by the number of words and there you have it.
Headlines & Other Elements:
Use your keywords in the headline tags <h1>, <h2>, <h3>. Remember that a <h1> tag has more importance than an <h2>. You want to put your main keyword in the beginning of the <h1> tag. The closer you are to the front, the more weight the keyword has. Don’t repeat your keyword more than once in your <h1> tag.
Remember that the <h1> tag has the most weight so include it only once in your page as well.
The search engine will understand that this keyword is very important because it is repeated once in one single <h1> tag.
Something to keep in mind is that search engines don’t have eyes, so any images that you put on your webpage are invisible to search engines. I recommend adding a title with your keyword to your image and an <alt> tag. This will help the search engine understand that there is a relevancy between your pictures and the keywords in your content. Another thing that helps is to save your image file names as the keywords they represent.
Links & URLs:
Everybody knows that links is what is most important in SEO. Every link is a vote in your favor so make sure to add your keyword phrases as clickable link anchor texts. Remember to remain spam free because too many links from the same website is not good. Always look natural.
Search engines also take in consideration the URL. Add your keywords to your URLs. The length of your URL shouldn’t be more than 3 to 5 words. Short precise URLs are more attractive to the human eye than long ones with letters and numbers all mixed up.
