Link Strategy - Developing imaginative Link Wheel

This is one of the most imaginative uses of web 2.0 sites. Here is the idea: 6 independent web 2.0 sites, all with high Page Rank values, create a back link to your website. And each of the "spokes" create a backlink to it's neighbor - creating the wheel. The "hub" is any page on your site.

The authority comes with from a extremely focused group of web sites, with elevated Page Ranks, all focusing on your site. The goal is to focalize an extensive amount of authority on one keyword phrase at a time - to promote that phrase up in the search engines.

Creating Content

On each of the 6 sites on the outside wheel we include content (preferably unique content optimized around a single theme - a single keyword phrase.

If, for example, your web site is about pet supplies. And one of your pages deals with pet grooming. What we would do is to create 6 articles dealing with "pet grooming". They might be 6 unique articles on per grooming or an article that has been spun. Within each of the 6 articles we would add two links. One to the page that we are promoting on our site. And the other to the next spoke in the wheel.

Next, we want to aggressively promote the wheel so it is picked up by the search engines.

1. Do Social Bookmarking for each of the 6 web 2.0 properties and the page on your web site.
2. On each of the web 2.0 sites, capture the RSS feed. Then submit the feed to multiple RSS directories.
3. Ping the RSS feeds
4. If you are given a sub domain on the web 2.0 properties, submit it to a number of directories

The Power to Expand

The simple 6 spoke Link Wheel can be very formidable on its own. But you can magnify the power of the wheel even more. Let's say that next month you want to add on to your hub. What we can do is build another wheel, but this time we could make the page that we previously created on Squidoo.com the focus - creating more authority for that page - which, in turn, passes greater authority back to your web site. You can keep adding as you wish - using Blogsome.com as the hub next month, etc. There are no limitations.
